I am a scientist working on dementia and have been supported by ARUK for many years. I have decided to give something back to ARUK, since charities are really struggeling in the current COVID pandemic. I know from personal experience how critical their support is for research. I have loved cycling since childhood and cycle nearly everyday to work, so taking part in the #CyclingDownDementia campaign from ARUK seems the obvious choice. A dream of mine has been to cycle the famous Lands End to John O' Groats (874miles/ 1407km). The lockdown gives me finally the chance to do this adventure, albeit virtually in the safety of my home on my indoor/turbo trainer and raise funds for ARUK at the same time. So, please support my virtual 'indoor' Lands End to John O'Groats cycle by using the 'Give Now' button. However, do not worry if you do not have any funds to give, simply raise the profile of ARUK by talking to other people about their dementia research. Or simply enjoy the drama of a middle-aged academic getting lost on his indoor bike by following my twitter feed (@m_hornberger). Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
